A 31-year-old policeman has found himself on the wrong side of the law facing three criminal charges allegedly committed earlier this year.
Damien Corey Griffith, of Newbury, St George is accused of unlawfully assaulting Maqueda Maynard between July 7 and 8.
He is further accused of using disorderly behaviour which caused Maynard to feel harassed, alarm and distress as well as using indecent language to Maynard when he allegedly uttered the words: “f*** you. I barely want you touch me,” while on the compound of the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Griffith pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today with his attorney Andrew Willoughby.
There were no objections to bail and the accused was granted $3,000.
The case against him will continue in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on January 9.
