A man’s obsession with him landed a 27-year-old Black Rock Main Road, St Michael resident before the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on a criminal charge today, the accused told the court.
And while Tramaine Dario Yarde pleaded guilty to entering the home of Vincent Davis on August 17 as a trespasser and damaging a television, a stereo and a mirror worth a combined $1,050, he said Davis was the one who started the fight that resulted in the damage.
“He don’t like seeing me talking to [my friends] but Sir, this man is obsessed over me. Sir, I tired telling the police that this man needs help,” Yarde told Magistrate Douglas Frederick, while explaining that last Friday’s row began while he was on a birthday outing with friends.
“I was liming with my friends and he say he want back his cellular phone, so I tell him let me delete my videos and my naked pictures out of the cellular phone first. He say ‘no’, give him the cellular phone. Then he drag me by my locks . . . I ain’t got no locks no more because he pull them put out and take me into his home and from there we start fighting.
“He pulled me into his home and that’s how the TV and the stereo fall off the TV stand. I don’t know nothing about no mirror.
“Sir, this man does be stalking me and harassing me and I have witnesses . . . and every time he has me in court . . . . This man don’t want to see me with no one, this man just jealous . . . this man possess sir, over me,” Yarde explained.
Earlier, Station Sergeant Samuel Hinds had said Davis crossed paths with Yarde on Lower Broad Street and an argument ensued resulting in Davis receiving injuries to his face.
He reported the matter to police and later went home where he discovered an open window, the room in disarray and the broken items on the floor.
The magistrate told Yarde he was the one before the court facing the charges and the complainant’s side would have to be heard.
Frederick offered Yarde bail but a suitable surety did not make it to court before the end of the day’s sitting.
Yarde was remanded to return to the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
