After just six days of freedom Jason Anthony Snaggs was back at Dodds today awaiting trial on new charges.

The 33-year-old of Villa Road, Britons Hill, St Michael was released from the St Philip penal institution on August 7, but was remanded today when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court charged with damaging a car belonging to Peter Sargeant on August 10.

He pleaded guilty to that charge but not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Sargeant on the same date.

“I just come from the prison the day after Crop Over and I was just trying to make an honest living,” Snaggs told the court.

In objecting to bail Sergeant Cameron Gibbons said Snaggs was known for committing similar offences, and had ten prior convictions for criminal damage.

The Britons Hill resident did not put up a fight when Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant asked why he should be granted bail.

“The prosecutor always right . . . as the court wishes,” Snaggs said just before he was given a September 10 date to return to court.
