A 58-year-old man, who has been on remand at Dodds prison since last December, today told a Bridgetown magistrate he was running out of patience.

Joseph Henry St Clair Cadogan, of no fixed place of abode, is accused of stealing $800 belonging to Rodney Babb, a $41,000 motorcar belonging to Chelsea Motors and two vehicle number plates worth $100 belonging to Ivor Nathaniel between June 5 and July 3, 2017.

He is further accused of stealing two chocolates from Dollarwise Superstore on December 10, 2017.

When Cadogan’s case came up before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today, the prosecutor revealed that he had no file and was unsure when it would be made available.

However, Cadogan described the prosecutor’s submission as “weak”.

“I have been very patient with the prosecution and this has been more than a couple of months. It is time that these matters are started. The prosecutor’s response is very weak as it stands,” the accused said.

The magistrate agreed saying he expected “a stronger response” from the prosecution at the next sitting on August 14.
