A 21-year-old man has admitted to wounding his ex-girlfriend on April 21, occasioning her actual bodily harm.
Shane Anthony Greene, of Ashby Land, Lodge Road, Christ Church, has also pleaded guilty to stealing $25 belonging to Michaela Belgrave.
According to Station Sergeant Rudolph Burnett, the two were in a relationship, which ended on April 19 as a result of Greene’s abusive behaviour.
On the aforementioned date he reportedly sent a text message to Belgrave begging her to come over. Thinking that something was wrong, Belgrave went to his residence. When she got there Greene snatched her phone, scrolled through her messages, accused her of cheating and hit her multiple times.
A neighbour came to her assistance and the matter was reported to the police.
However, today Greene, who is not known to the court, was granted $1,000 bail.
He returns before Magistrate Elwood Watts in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court on May 8 when Belgrave is also expected to be in attendance.
