Three of four men who were on remand at HMP Dodds on related drug charges were released just in time for Christmas.
Himfari Daniel Hurdle, 21, of Work Hall, St Philip; 58-year-old Kenneth Donald Maycock of Fitts Village, St James and 43-year-old Rayburn Therold Kidd of Black Rock, St Michael, were each released on $30 000 bail by Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch when they reappeared in the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court.
Maycock was also ordered to report to any police station once a week.
However, the news was not as good for co-accused 40-year-old Shern Andre Peters, of Martins Road, Pine, St Michael, who pleaded guilty and was remanded pending a pre-sentencing report.
The trio pleaded not guilty to possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and trafficking of cannabis on November 8, 2018, as well as knowingly handling cannabis on the same date which was intended by them or some other person for supply.
Queen’s Counsel Michael Lashley and attorney-at-law Dayna Taylor appeared on behalf of Maycock; Marlon Gordon appeared for Hurdle and Angela Mitchell-Gittens represented Peters.
They return to court on January 7, 2019.
