Four young men who tried to sneak drugs into Saturday night’s Hennessy Artistry show were ordered to complete community service.
The sentence was handed down today by Magistrate Graveney Bannister in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court after the quartet pleaded guilty to having cannabis in their possession on December 2, 2018.
Jackson Kennyatta Collymore, 28, of Callenders, Christ Church; 35-year-old Darrell Antonio Haynes, of Wilson Hill, St John; Antoine Rico Carter, 30, of Canewood Road, Jackson, St Michael and 31-year-old Christopher Omar Lamar Linton of Chapel Gap, St Barnabas, St Michael will have to complete 240 hours of community service by July 12 next year.

The court heard that the partygoers attempted to enter the popular reggae show held at Kensington Oval on Saturday but when they reached the gates, security personnel searched them and the drugs were discovered hidden in their shoes.
The drugs weighed from two grams to five grams confiscated.
None of the men admitted to having a drug problem when questioned by the magistrate. However, Bannister had some words of advice for them.
“Get yourselves together and pull up your socks. These drugs are the reason why a lot of young people are being killed, whether directly or indirectly,” the magistrate told them.
He said once they completed the community service no conviction would be recorded against them.
But the magistrate warned that if they failed to complete the hours by July 12, they would face the possibility of being fined or imprisoned.
