If he wants to, Tramaine Dario Yarde is free to take part in Barbados’ upcoming 52nd Independence celebrations on Friday.

Yarde, popularly known as ‘Peppers’, was released from prison today on $3500 bail after his former lover told the court he was no longer interested in proceeding with one of the two matters with which Yarde is charged.

The 27-year-old Yarde of Black Rock Main Road, St Michael, had been in Dodds prison for the last month charged with stealing $120 belonging to Vincent Davis on September 2, 2018.

However, when he reappeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today, Davis, who was present, said he wanted the case discontinued.

Asked whether he had been coerced, forced or threatened to drop the case, Davis replied ,”no’. Acting Magistrate Sandra Rawlins then dismissed the matter.

Yarde was also facing the additional charge of not leaving the premises of Darcy Dear after he was ordered to do so by Davis, a person authorized to do so.

On this matter, Rawlins imposed $3500 in bail with a surety, which Yarde was able to secure. He was also placed on a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and ordered to report to the District ‘A’ police station on Mondays and Fridays by 10 a.m.

Yarde will return to court on December 5, 2018.
