Nineteen charges, including gun, ammunition and endangering life offences, catapulted a 31-year-old into HMP Dodds for the next few weeks.
Jermaine Kenneth King, of No. 274, 4th Avenue Windward Gardens, St Philip appeared before the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on 12 indictable and seven summary charges, the majority of which were allegedly committed in October.
He reportedly began his criminal enterprise between August 22 and 23 when he is alleged to have stolen a $46,000 motorcar belonging to Deanna Dash Toy Shop Inc.
On October 4 he is alleged to have used a firearm and then endangered the lives of others; recklessly discharged a firearm along Waterhall Land, Eagle Hall, St Michael in a manner that placed six people in danger of death or serious bodily harm.
It is further alleged that on that day he damaged without lawful authority or excuse a motorcar belonging to Tiffanie Simpson intending to damage the vehicle or was reckless as to whether it would be damaged.
King’s criminal streak continued when he allegedly damaged a house belonging to Edwin Bailey on that same day
The accused man apparently took a break and reportedly reoffended 22 days later.
It is alleged that he had a firearm in his possession on October 26 without a valid licence as well as 14 rounds of ammunition without the necessary legal permit.
He was not required to plead to those 12 charges as all are indictable.
King, however, entered not guilty pleas to assaulting and resisting police constables Haniffe Harewood and Shawn Clarke in the execution on their duties and possession of cannabis also on October 26.
He also denied damaging a $42 shirt and a pair of boots worth $455.16 which are the property of the Crown.
The accused who is being represented by attorney-at-law Naomi Lynton in association with Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim will return before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant on January 22.
