A man with no fixed place of abode will call HMP Dodds home for the next six months.

Andrew Valentino Smith was sentenced to that time in prison after he pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of apparatus for the misuse of cocaine and theft of a $15 shirt belonging to Camillus Lewis.

Police went on duty to Mason Hall Street, St Michael on September 18 where the found the 29-year-old man in the custody of another police officer.

The apparatus, a bottle with the bottom broken and a burnt wire mesh at the top, was found in his possessions when police requested a search to which he consented.

“I does use them to smoke,” Smith told lawmen when asked to account for the bottle.

Sergeant Rudy Pilgrim also told the magistrate that Lewis placed the shirt along with other laundry on a line near his apartment but discovered it missing the following day.  He later saw Smith wearing the garment and called the police.
