Career crook to be sentenced

The details of a 56-year-old man’s burglary spree will be outlined in the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on September 24.

Henderson Emmanuel Yarde/Harewood, of no fixed place of abode, will also know his fate when he returns before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant on that date.

The accused pleaded guilty to a number of burglaries which began on Christmas Day last year when he entered the home of Cheryl Bartlett as a trespasser and stole a $700 laptop, $95 worth of toys, a $1,300 chain and a $110 scooter.

He was at it again on New Year’s Day when he burglarized John Yarde’s house and stole $600. Later that same month – between January 9 and 11 – he stole a $200 microwave oven, a $1,500 bracelet and a $300 chain when he broke into the home of Brenda Catlin.

The following month – February 19 and 20 – he entered the house of Marcelle Holder as a trespasser and stole a $625 cellular phone.

He seemingly took a four-month break but returned between July 1 and August 31 and burglarized several homes namely that of Casandra Harewood where he stole two laptops worth $2,200 and $500 cash; Eleanor Alleyne-Shepherd’s house where he stole an $800 door and an $800 saw; and that of Sandra Marshall were he stole a $616 cellular phone.

His last criminal act before he was caught was of robbing Jacqueline O’Neal of a $50 bag on September 10.
