A concoction of marijuana, alcohol and cocaine drove Robert Raymond Harris to commit burglary, he said in pleading guilty to the charge.
And for his crime, the 43-year-old, of no fixed place abode, will have a roof over his head for the next two years.
The sentence was imposed after Harris pleaded guilty to burglarizing the home of Terry Brin of $413 worth of items on September 10.
In reading the police report Sergeant Edwin Pinder revealed that Harris pounced when Brin left home for work.
Harris who is known, for committing eleven other such offences, told Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant earlier today: “marijuana, cocaine and alcohol, that’s what make me do that. I would like to go to Verdun House for rehab.”
But the magistrate informed him that he was not qualified for the programme given his criminal history.
Cuffy-Sargeant also granted a restitution order for the items to be returned to its rightful owner.
