It took 25-year-old Tremaine Dario Yarde less than two weeks to find himself back on the remand block at HMP Dodds.
The Black Rock Main Road, St Michael resident found himself before Magistrate Douglas Frederick again today charged with committing two offences against the same complainant Vincent Davis.
Yarde pleaded not guilty to refusing to leave the premises of Darcy Dear after he was directed to do so by Davis, who was authorized by the owner. He also denied stealing $120 belonging to Davis.
Both offences allegedly occurred on September 2.
Station Sergeant Samuel Hinds objected to bail for several reasons, including that the accused had been warned on his last appearance on August 24 to stay away from Davis and the Suttle Street area “but it seems as though he has disregarded those instructions and is not willing to accede to free advice”.
However, just as he did on August 24, after spending four days on remand, Yarde again claimed that Davis was the one interfering with him.
“Sir, I was on the road last night and this man come around me with $120 to have sex with me and I told him you told me do not take nothing from him. This man does see me and trouble me, Sir, and it’s just that I don’t go to the police station and complain for this man,” Yarde explained, to which the magistrate asked: “What were you doing on Suttle Street? Remember I told you not to go there?”
“Sir, I wasn’t in Suttle Street, I was in Pinfold Street,” the accused replied.
The magistrate also reminded him that he had been warned to stay away from Davis.
“Sir, I don’t be ‘round this man. This man does see me and trouble me, does come and offer me money to have sex and I said no. He is who come to me, Sir. I was on Pinfold Street looking for money - you know I have to pay he [Davis] back by the end of the month - so I was trying to get the money together,” Yarde, who has to compensate Davis $1,000 for damaged items, further explained. He is to return to court on October 1.
When Yarde last appeared before Frederick on August 24, charged with entering Davis’ home on August 17 as a trespasser and damaging a television, a stereo and a mirror collectively worth $1,050, the magistrate prohibited him from venturing to Suttle Street and to be on his best behaviour for the six months, otherwise he would have to pay the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court $1,500 forthwith or spend three months in jail.
Davis had told the court he and Yarde were in a relationship but it was now over.
“I try to take care of him but this boy smoke cocaine. This is not the first time he mash up things,” Davis declared at the time, to which Yarde responded: “This man obsess with me, this man does stalk me, this man needs help.”
