Magistrate Douglas Frederick had sent Tremayne Tito Blenman of Block 5A, North Close, Wildey, St Michael to the prison on remand after it was revealed that he had missed his court date. In addition, he failed to report to the required police station, which was a condition imposed on him for three drug charges which date back to December 2013.
When the accused appeared 28 days ago he was not required to plead to the charge of unlawfully assaulting Rasheed Phillips on July 22, as well as fraudulent use of a vehicle number plate, driving without a driver’s licence and failing to stop at the sound of a police siren.
Those matters have been transferred to the District ‘A’ Traffic Court for hearing on September 25.
Blenman, who is represented by attorney-at-law Shadia Simpson, will also make an appearance before Magistrate Frederick on October 31 in relation to the 2013 drug offences.
He is on $2,500 bail in the meantime and must report to the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court every Wednesday before 10a.m. with valid identification.
