A 54-year-old grandmother appeared in court today charged with an alleged case of child abuse.
The woman who lives in a St Michael community is accused of willfully assaulting her 11-year-old granddaughter in an manner likely to cause unnecessary injury to her health as well as assaulting her causing her actual bodily harm.
The accused grandmother pleaded not guilty to the charge, which reportedly occurred on August 18.
With no objections from the prosecution she was released on $2,500 bail to return before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on December 4.
