A 23-year-old man, who admitted to assaulting his sister and to possession of a quantity of drugs, has been remanded to prison until July 5.

According to a police report Ewing Anderson Forde entered Danielle Forde’s bedroom at their Old Navy Road, Christ Church home on June 26 with a hammer. He woke her and then threatened to strike her with the tool for inviting people into the house when he had illegal drugs there.

An argument ensued and the hammer reportedly brushed across his sister’s face. The incident was reported to police and a search warrant executed at Forde’s residence two days later.

The illegal substance, which had an estimated $2,000 street value, was found in a duffel bag and some were also found hanging on a line in his bedroom.

In his defence, Forde told Magistrate Douglas Frederick his grandmother left the house for him and his sister but there was always the rule the he should not bring any women and neither could she invite any men there.

“So I spoke to her about it and she [flew] in my face. I have a bad temper . . . . I did have the hammer, but I did not touch her,” Forde told the magistrate even as he denied being “big into drugs”.
