Two young Christ Church men lost their freedom today – at least temporarily - when they appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on a number of criminal charges.
They are 23-year-old Malcom Marlon Archer and 25-year-old Ramone Sherome Henderson Griffith, both of Sweet Street in Lowthers Hill.

The duo is accused of using a firearm while committing aggravated burglary; that they along with other persons trespassed into the home of Rosche Chandler and stole a number of items totaling $23, 598 while armed with a firearm, hammer and knife as well as unlawfully wounding Chandler with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do some serious bodily harm to him.
Those offences were allegedly committed on June 1. The two are also accused of entering the home of Rosemary Moseley on May 22 together with other persons and stole a $20 handbag, a $150 passport and $600 cash belonging to the homeowner as well as two pairs of shoes worth $1,200 and a $150 sweater belonging to Jamaal Moseley, while armed with a firearm.
The accused men were not required to plead to the indictable charges, which were allegedly committed in the District ‘A’ jurisdiction, when they went before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant with their attorney Shamar Bovell.
Archer meanwhile is separately charged with using a fraudulent drivers’ licence, which he allegedly also used to obtain a leased motorcar from Jada Car Rentals on June 2 while in the District ‘A’ jurisdiction, and to obtain from Jessie Evelyn a leased motorcar, this time on June 8 in the District ‘E’ jurisdiction.
Archer is further charged with using the same forged licence on June 11 to lease a motorcar from Corey Best, this time in the District ‘B’ jurisdiction.
Archer will appear in the District ‘E’ Magistrates’ Court on June 25, in the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court on June 26 and then he and his co-accused Griffith will return before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on July 18
