
A sixth man has been remanded to Dodds prison charged with the murder of British national Steven Weare.
Shaquille O’Neal Orlando Cumberbatch, of 3rd Avenue Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael is accused of committing the capital offence sometime between August 23 and September 1, last year.
Weare’s body was discovered in a remote area in Melverton, St George on September 1 last year after he had been missing for some time.
The 23-year-old Cumberbatch was not required to plead to the indictable charge when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today with his attorney Andrew Willoughby.
It is also alleged that, armed with a knife, Cumberbatch entered the home of Selwyn Gaskin on June 8 and stole a number of items a totalling $7,273, including $4,000 in cash, belonging to Gaskin.
He is further accused of having four rounds of ammunition in his possession without a valid permit on June 14.
Those matters have been transferred to the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court for June 26.
The following day, June 27, Cumberbatch will appear before the District ‘A’ Traffic Court to answer two offences.
He is alleged to have driven a motorcar on Goodland Main Road on June 8, about 11:40a.m. without insurance or a driver’s licence, and in a furious manner that caused bodily injury to Police Constable Rico Johnson.
Cumberbatch will then return before Magistrate Cuffy-Sargeant on July 18 where he will face three indictable charges.
He is accused of robbing Jabari Kirton of several items, including cash totalling $5,570, as well as robbing Kirton of a $10, 000 motor car belonging to Ashlee Waterman, and Javed Mounted of a cellular phone and cash totaling $947.36 on May 22.
The accused is also charged with unlawfully wounding Shamar Weekes on April 4 with intent to main, disfigured or disable him or to do some serious bodily harm to him.
