A 24-year-old cashier, who has been embroiled in an ongoing feud with a co-worker, is expected to know her fate on Friday.

Nikiesha Latonya Taylor-Gittens of Harmony Hall, St Lawrence, Christ Church pleaded guilty today before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant to damaging a motorcar belonging to Andrea Gumbs on October 2.

According to Sergeant Cameron Gibbons, the two women, who are employed at a popular supermarket chain, had earlier disagreed on a work-related matter and were not on speaking terms.

However, when they encountered each other in a corridor at work last Monday around 4 p.m.  “shoulders bounced” . And while no words were uttered between the two women at the time, a short while later Taylor-Gittens, who was at her cash register, warned Gumbs not to bounce shoulders with her again. After an exchange of words, Gumbs reportedly walked away. But Taylor-Gittens left her station and, according to the prosecutor, went outside to the car park and “scratched the entire left side of [Gumbs’] car.

A witness to the act informed Gumbs of the situation.

“My head was hot,” Taylor-Gittens told the magistrate today as she explained that it was an “angry feud” between her and Gumbs which “got out of hand”.

The matter was adjourned until October 6 when Gumbs is expected to appear in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Court to inform the magistrate of the estimated cost of the damage to her vehicle.

In the meantime, Taylor-Gittens, who has no previous convictions, was warned to stay away from Gumbs.
