Two people charged separately with using threatening language towards an immigration officer were granted bail today when they appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.
Britani Tove Carter, 22, of #7 1st Avenue, Wanstead Terrace, St Michael is alleged to have told Janice Robinson on September 6, “I am not playing, I would beat the s*** out of you”, as well as assaulting and using insulting language.
The incident is said to have occurred at a house where Robinson was executing her duties as an immigration officer.
However, Carter, who was represented by attorney-at-law Safiya Moore, was not required to plead to the charges when she appeared before Acting Magistrate Sandra Rawlins.
There were no objections to bail and Carter was released on a $4,000 surety to appear in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court on September 20.
Also scheduled to appear in the same court on the same date is Alex Reynaldo Reifer, 24, of #32 Briar Hall, Gardens, Christ Church.
He too is accused of threatening Robinson with the words, “I would throw boiling water on you”.
Reifer who also had Moore as his legal counsel was granted $3,500 bail.
