Taxi driver Jamar Randy Butcher was today granted his freedom after denying an assault charge.
There were no objections to bail from the prosecutor, Sergeant Vernon Waithe, when the 33-year-old resident of Lower Estate, St George appeared before Acting Magistrate Sandra Rawlins and pleaded not guilty to assaulting Omar Giles on July 14, occasioning him actual bodily harm.
He was told to return to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on January 17 next year, after the acting magistrate accepted his $2,500 surety.
